Your Nagaland adventure begins with a warm welcome at Dimapur Airport (DMU) or Railway Station, where our representative will meet you and assist you with your onward journey. From here, we set off towards Viswema Village, located approximately 75 km from Dimapur.

Enjoy a scenic drive of around 3–4 hours as the landscape gradually changes from the bustling surroundings of Dimapur to the peaceful hills of Nagaland. Afternoon – Arrival & Check-in

Morning – Trek Begins
Start your day with an early and hearty breakfast at the homestay before getting ready for the adventure ahead. After a short drive from Viswema Village to the trekking point, your trek to Dzukou Valley begins.

The first section takes you through a challenging uphill trail lasting approximately 1.5–2 hours, with sections featuring stone-carved steps. While this is the more demanding part of the trek, the refreshing mountain air and stunning views of the surrounding hills make every step worthwhile. Take your time, enjoy the scenery and pause whenever you need to catch your breath.

Valley Walk
Once the steep ascent is behind you, the trail becomes more comfortable and scenic. Continue your journey for another 2–3 hours, walking through rolling hills, open grasslands and peaceful mountain landscapes.

As you make your way towards the valley, take time to appreciate the untouched beauty around you. On a clear day, you may also catch beautiful views of the majestic Japfu Peak rising in the distance.

Arrival at Dzukou Valley
Around lunchtime, arrive at the trekkers’ hut or campsite in Dzukou Valley. Take a well-deserved break, settle into the campsite and enjoy a warm meal while surrounded by the spectacular beauty of the valley.

The peaceful atmosphere and panoramic mountain views make this the perfect place to relax after the trek.

Afternoon – Explore the Valley
After lunch and some rest, set out for a gentle exploratory walk into the heart of Dzukou Valley. Depending on the season, you may be fortunate enough to see the beautiful Dzukou lilies, which are especially prominent during the monsoon months.

The valley’s lush green meadows, vibrant dwarf bamboo, winding streams and rolling landscapes create an unforgettable setting for nature lovers and photographers. Take your time to enjoy the tranquillity and capture some beautiful moments along the way.

Evening – Camp Under the Stars
As evening approaches, return to the campsite and unwind after an exciting day of trekking. Enjoy a warm and hearty dinner surrounded by the peaceful mountain wilderness.

If the weather permits, gather around a cosy bonfire, share stories with fellow travellers and admire the star-filled sky above Dzukou Valley. With the cool mountain breeze and silence of the valley around you, it is the perfect way to end an adventurous day.

Overnight Stay: Dzukou Valley Camp / Tent

Important Guest Note: Today involves several hours of trekking, including a steep uphill section. Guests should wear proper trekking shoes, carry a reusable water bottle and follow the instructions of the trip leader and local guide.

Wake up to the peaceful beauty of Dzukou Valley and, if the weather is clear, enjoy a spectacular sunrise over the surrounding hills. After breakfast, take some time to soak in the serene atmosphere and capture a few final memories before beginning your return journey.

Morning – Descent to Viswema
After breakfast, begin your descent by retracing the scenic trail towards Viswema Village. The downhill trek is generally quicker than the ascent, giving you more time to enjoy the changing landscapes, lush greenery and beautiful mountain views along the way.

Take a relaxed pace, breathe in the fresh mountain air and make the most of your final moments in the beautiful Dzukou Valley.

Return to Dimapur & Departure – End of the Lovely Trekking in Dimapur, Nagaland.
