Shopping in Dubai

Mall of the Emirates (Al Barsha): Mall of the Emirates (Al Barsha): Dubai’s second-largest mall with 630+ stores featuring almost every major international fashion, lifestyle, and luxury brand. Home to Ski Dubai — the city’s iconic indoor ski resort — along with the Magic Planet entertainment zone and the VOX Cinemas multiplex, it offers a complete shopping and leisure experience on Sheikh Zayed Road.

From premium designer labels to popular high-street fashion, the mall caters to all types of shoppers, making it one of the best shopping destinations in Dubai for both luxury and value purchases. Visitors can explore dedicated fashion avenues, flagship brand outlets, and seasonal sale events that attract shoppers year-round. The mall is especially popular for its wide variety of fashion, beauty, electronics, and home décor stores, allowing visitors to complete all their shopping under one roof while enjoying a comfortable indoor environment.

Dubai Marina Mall (Dubai Marina): A compact but beautifully located mall in the heart of the Marina district. Houses the XLine zip line on its rooftop and excellent waterfront dining options. Ideal for a shopping break between Marina walks and dhow cruises.

Ibn Battuta Mall (Jebel Ali):  A completely unique mall themed around the travels of explorer Ibn Battuta. Six distinct zones China, India, Persia, Egypt, Tunisia, and Andalusia each with unique architecture and themed shopping. Sky Zone trampoline park and multiple dining options. More relaxed and less crowded than Dubai Mall.

Dubai Hills Mall (Dubai Hills): One of Dubai’s newer malls (opened 2022) with 600+ outlets, a family-friendly atmosphere, and a more relaxed community vibe. Excellent for families and residents who prefer a quieter shopping experience away from tourist crowds.

Festival City Mall (Al Kheeran) : Situated along Dubai Creek with 400+ brands, the famous IMAGINE water and light show on the waterfront (free, evenings), and great family dining options. IKEA is located right next door. A good option for a relaxed day trip with families.

WAFI Mall (Oud Metha): Inspired by Egyptian architecture with pharaonic motifs inside and out, WAFI is a boutique mall with luxury brands, fine dining, and the spectacular Khan Murjan underground souk recreating a traditional Middle Eastern marketplace inside a modern setting. Beautifully atmospheric, especially during Ramadan.

Dubai Outlet Mall (Al Ain Road): Located 45 minutes from central Dubai, the Outlet Mall is the best destination for branded goods at discounted prices up to 90% off international brands including Nike, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, and hundreds more. Worth the drive if you love a bargain.

Traditional Souks & Markets

Gold Souk (Deira): One of the largest gold markets in the world. Over 380 shops spread across covered alleyways in Deira, selling 18K–24K gold jewellery in every style from traditional Arabian bridal sets to modern minimalist designs. Also, diamonds, platinum, and silver. Bargaining is expected. Metro: Al Ras (Green Line).

Spice Souk (Deira): Right next door to the Gold Souk, the Spice Souk is a sensory explosion. Sacks and baskets overflow with saffron, turmeric, dried rose petals, frankincense, oud, cumin, and cardamom from across Asia and the Arab world. Prices are very affordable and vendors are friendly.

Perfume Souk (Deira — Sikkat Al Khail) : The best place in Dubai to buy authentic Arabian perfumes and oud oils. Rows of perfumers sell traditional attars and bespoke fragrance blends using oud, rose, amber, and musk. Have a custom fragrance blended for you a uniquely Dubai experience.

Textile Souk / Bur Dubai Souk (Bur Dubai) : Dubai’s oldest souk, lined with shops selling premium silks, chiffons, cotton, pashmina shawls, and fabrics from India, China, and beyond. Tailors can create custom garments within 24–48 hours. Also sells traditional Emirati abayas and Indian saris.

Meena Bazaar (Bur Dubai): A lively, energetic market area reminiscent of Indian bazaars the perfect description, as it is largely run by the South Asian community. Great for affordable clothes, accessories, bangles, imitation jewellery, and souvenirs. Fantastic street food options throughout.

Global Village (Oct–Apr): Seasonal outdoor market with pavilions from 90+ countries. Each country pavilion sells its own crafts, souvenirs, food, and cultural products. An excellent place to buy unique gifts and global handicrafts at affordable prices.
